Now this might sound odd, but what an increasing number of commuters do is register their vehicle as a taxi - it works out cheaper if you're traveling through London every day, taking into account the new congestion charges, plus you can use the bus lanes. Birmingham is about 100 miles from London, I believe.

birmingham to london, 1 hr 10 mins by train. you can get monthly passes, then you will probs have to use underground to get to your place of work and u can get a pass for that too

Otherwise, it's car (welcome to the hell that is the motorway system) or bus (prepare to spend most of your life in transit). About 100 miles.
