I want to do work experience in JD in the Bullring in Birmingham so im going to write my letter to them asking if i can do it. Do i write to the manager? If so then whats his/her name?

just write - "to whom it may concern" this way it will go to the correct person who deals with work experience

I think you're best bet is to actually go in to the shop with a letter of introduction, stating you would like to do your experience with them, You will be far more respected by the manager for going in to see him/ her personally. If you get off on a good start with them, you may even bag yourself a job with them after your experience is over!! I have worked in a number of the shops in the bullring and work there now currently, so id like to think I know what im on about! ;) good luck
