My impression was the US recruitment firms got paid based on the salaries of the people they recruited and that people in the firm where paid a salary plus a commission, but I don't know for sure. It may be different in the UK From the source below this what I told UK recruiters make. SalaryRegion £41,800North West £51,776London £38,000Yorkshire and North East £41,325South West £48,925South East £40,375Scotland £42,750Northern Ireland £39,900Wales £44,175Midlands £39,425East of England

Try contacting the Vets close to where you are living and spread out gradually. The other possibility, although some distance from Brum, is the West Midland Safari Park twixt Kidderminster and Bewdley (closer to Kidder which is around 18 miles from Birmingham) The travelling isn't too bad - I had to do that trip daily for several months. Just had another thought - how about Animal Rescue Centres, like Blue Cross (there is certainly one in Bromsgrove) or the PDSA on the A456 between Halesowen and Edgbaston. Dudley Zoo - more travelling, but a possibility, perhaps?
